Thanks for taking me on a journey of your year 2011! I especially loved the fun times we spent together, which have been quite a few last year, let's hope to carry on like this in 2012 and even more!
Today I wanted to tell you a bit more about the new recipe book I got for Christmas, that is the Pieminister recipe book..a collection of recipes by this fresh and extremely British company that makes delicious scrummy pies! I still remember the first time I heard the word "pie" and straight away I thought about the "sweet" kind of pie, like apple pie, but I soon found out that very often a pie is of the savoury kind.
I have to confess that I am now deeply in love with these little (sometimes big!) delicious bites, very rustic looking, thanks to that tasty shortcrust pastry..yum, it makes me hungry even now just talking about it! The first time I discovered Pieminister was at the End of the Road, a music festival I went to last September...they had a stand selling pies, mash and gravy, served in a pretty but robust cardboard box...

I have to say that, pies aside, I am completely in love with the entire Pieminister brand...from the logo to the slogan to the packaging...love it all! So much so that I was given the recipe book from my husband as a Christmas present, I am sure he was very keen on me getting started on trying the recipes as soon as possible!

I love how it's divided into seasons |
love the fun graphics |
run, pie, run! |
As the title says, a pie for each season...there are 4 chapters, one for each season of the year, to encourage people to use seasonal ingredients...I had to start of course by the Winter chapter and I went for the "moody-blues" steak and stilton pie...

What I also love about the cookbook is that it comes with much more than just recipes, it's full of party ideas, games , jokes...If you fancy the recipe just let me know and I will send it to you...and for our readers, leave a comment or drop me an email and I will send it over :-)
Speak to you soon...let's end this post with the pieminister motto!
