Wine and chestnuts: warming snack!

Tatina, I love these works! And you're right: I'd immediately go out and pick some leaves... but... you know, I've already tried an experiment like this, once. I think it was five or six years ago, and because of my passion for leaves, I decided to collect some of them in a frame: it was a complete disaster! But -I think- only because I didn't have a tutorial... 'think I should try again! :-)
Anyway, as I can see,Autumn is a lovely season for both of us: colors, food, art inspiration... and don't forget wine! Here in Italy, since the end of September, you can smell the grape must in the air: they're making wine. Cagnina, Sangiovese, Novello are the most famous ones in my area: red wines, but light and -just some of them- sweet as honey! I like sweet wine with chestnuts: it's the best snack on a cold and foggy day...yumm...
Talking about wine, some days ago I was surfing through the web, and I found this interesting rate about the best hotels where to stay during the weekend of San Martino, in November. It should be the week of wine release: so you can taste and try many of them, following the region you're visiting.
Trivago -this is the name of the website- has chosen the 5 best places where to pass this weekend, staying in original hotels or B&Bs, trying local wine & food and visiting the surroundings. The choice has been made following all the suggestions given by the website visitors and... I'd really love to visit ALL of them (maybe with you and Stu? All the four together? couldn't be only a dream one day....)!

So the first one is Borgo San Felice, near Siena (lovely Siena!) where you can stay in a typical Tuscan house, eating Tuscan food and drinking Chianti. The place looks so romantic!

The second one is in Marsala, Sicily. The hotel is Baglio Donna Franca. And there you can also visit their wine cellar, learning how to make delicious wine. And the price... the price is so cheap that it would be a shame not to go for a couple of days!

 Then we can rise up again to Piedmont, Monferrato, where the Castello di Razzano will allow you to try the famous Barbera wine in a real castle!

You know that another region which is famous for its wine is Veneto. If you go to Hotel Canon d'oro, in Conegliano Veneto, you'll find -at a very low price - bedrooms with Jacuzzi and the Prosecco wine, which is the main ingredient for the Spritz cocktail -Ale loves it, but I prefer Prosecco and orange juice.

Least but not last, Hotel Giò Wine & Jazz, near Perugia, is perfect for whoever likes the match wine-and-music and Umbria region is a lovely place to visit (have you ever been there?).

Can I tell you which one I would visit first? You know I'm a romantic one so... the castle is perfect for me!! And what about you?

 Tatina mi piacciono questi lavoretti! E hai proprio ragione: me ne andrei subito fuori a raccoglier foglie... ma... sai una cosa? Ci ho già provato una volta a fare un esperimento simile. Mi pare sia stato cinque o sei anni fa, e proprio per questa mia passione per le foglie, avevo deciso di raccoglierne alcune in un quadretto: fu un disastro totale! Ma credo che sia stato solo perchè non avevo una traccia da seguire... magari potrei provarci di nuovo! :-)
Comunque, vedo che entrambe amiamo l'autunno come stagione: i colori, i sapori, l'ispirazione per qualcosa di artistico... e non dimentichiamo il vino!!Cagnina, Sangiovese, NOvello sono i più famosi della mia zona: vini rossi e -alcuni- dolci come il miele! Mi piace il vino dolce con le castange: è una merenda perfetta per un giorno freddo e nebbioso... yummy...
A proposito di vino. alcuni giorni fa stavo sfogliando le pagine del web, quando ho trovato questo interessante articolo sui migliori hotel dove trascorrere il weekend di San Martino. Dovrebbe essere quella la settimana in cui il primo vino viene venduto al pubblico: così si può assaggiarne diversi tipi, a seconda della regione che si sta visitando.
Trivago -è il nome del sito appunto- ha scelto i 5 posti migliori dove trascorrere questo weekend, soggiornando in hotel o B&B, gustando il vino ed i cibi locali, e visitando i dintorni. La scelta è stata fatta in base ai suggerimenti dati dai lettori e... a dirti la verità mi piacerebbe visitarli TUTTI! (magari insieme a tequattro insieme? un giorno potrebbe non essere solo un sogno...)!

Quindi il primo hotel suggerito è Borgo San Felice, vicino a Suena (meravigliosa Siena!) dove si può soggiornare in un tipico casale toscano, mangiando cibo toscano e bevendo Chianti. Il luogo sembra davvero romantico!
Il secondo posto è in Sicilia, a Marsala. L'hotel si chiama Baglio Donna Franca. E lì puoi visitare anche la cantina, imparando come si fa a fare del buon vino. E il prezzo... beh, il prezzo è così basso che è un peccato non passarci almeno un paio di giorni!
Si sale poi verso il Piemonte, a Monferrato, dove nel Castello di Razzano si può assaggiare il famoso Barbera.
Sai che un'altra regione famosa per il vino è il Veneto. Se si va all'Hotel Canon D'oro, a Conegliano Veneto, le stanze hanno anche la Jacuzzi e vi si può gustare il Prosecco, ingrediente principale dello Spritz -che Ale adora, invece io preferisco Prosecco e succo d'arancia come aperitivo.
Infine, ma non per importanza, l'Hotel Giò Wine & Jazz, vicino a Perugia, che è perfetto per chi ama bere vino ascoltando della buona musica. E poi l'Umbria è proprio un bel posto da vedere (ci sei mai stata piuttosto?).
Posso dirti, dovendo scegliere, quale visiterei per primo? Sai che sono romantica, quindi... il Castello sarebbe il mio luogo ideale! E tu?
